I still feel as though I'm not really home. It's been about 2 years and I'm wondering when or if i'll stop missing New Orleans and feel that i'm home here in Nashville. Is it once I get involved in church? meet new people? actually make friends that hang out together outside of work? I would love to have couples dinners out or host a few dinner parties of my own but I wonder if it's my location or if it's me...do people want me around? I may be too insecure and am looking farther into this than someone should... a fatal flaw I suppose. I hope that we'll come around and so will people. Godly, real people...no more fakes. I hope maybe once I stop being such a home-body i'll be ready to meet people. It's just so awkard...kind of like dating again. Do they like me? Do i like them? are my quirks too weird for them? do i mind theirs? I haven't felt like connecting with people in a while. Maybe that will change. I would like to have girlfriends to call and talk with and go to lunch with every now and then.
My husband is my best friend though. I enjoy his company any day and don't need an invitation to go to lunch or feel i'm a bother to him like i do to some people. Maybe this will change soon. I'm not looking for best friends. Just looking for cool people who aren't crazy who want to have fun and laugh. Hopefully that will come around.
